Leaders impact culture, culture impacts business performance.

Leadership in today’s complex landscape demands self-awareness, presence and foresight. Balancing multiple demands while setting the tone for organisational culture is crucial. Prioritising self-management and alignment enhances leadership effectiveness.

Leadership is a tough gig in current society. There is so much complexity and chaos. A lot out of an organisations control. You are balancing technological demands, economical demands, social demands, environmental demands, legal demands, political demands, client demands, employee demands, financial demands, operational demands and more at a exponential rate of change.

Leaders are still human. We all have areas for development and growth. We all react under pressure. There is so much pressure imposed on leaders, I see a lot of exhaustion and burnout.

Leaders behaviour is contagious. Many behavioural norms come from what is modeled from the top. Organisational systems and structures either reinforce or contradict messages from leaders. What an organisation measures reveals what matters to the leader. Do you measure what matters? Are your organisations vision, mission, purpose and values in alignment with systems, operations and measures?

For Leaders, on top of managing all the demands, managing the self is a key component. Having deep self-awareness and regulation strategies is key.

When we are aligned , we are better leaders.
